WELCOME TO DALE EGEE EDITIONS

Art in the Middle East and the Muslim world pre-dates all of Western European art by many centuries and is characterised by its richness and diversity. For many Europeans, Oriental Art first came to their attention in the nineteenth century when the Arabian Peninsula became part of the Grand Tour. Artists like David Roberts, Emile Prisse, Owen Carter and Jean-Leon Gerome exquisitely captured vibrant scenes of Arab life on their frequent visits to Palestine, Egypt and Arabia.

But throughout the centuries, Arabic artists have developed their own distinctive styles which have appealed not only to their own people but increasingly to a wider audience in the West.

Dale Egee has travelled extensively throughout the Middle East over the past twenty five years and has learned to appreciate the finer details of Arabic and Muslim art. She has met many of the contemporary artists, both Arab and Western, and has established firm friendships based on trust and mutual respect. In return, they have now entrusted her with the rights to reproduce their best works in limited edition prints.

· Egee Editions is a new concept. Reproductions of Muslim images on fine thick paper appropriate to each image: coated stock for fine detail, watercolour paper for a hand-painted look, some with mounts, some without.

· Egee Editions explores many different aspects of ancient and modern Muslim culture from architecture and calligraphy to day-to-day objects like musical instruments, saddlery and carpets.

· Egee Editions also reproduces rare images by the great Arabists and travellers in Muslim countries like Snouck Hurgronje, Prisse d'Avennes, Count Forray, Owen Carter and David Roberts.

· Egee Editions introduces contemporary artists and New Orientalists like Hassan Massoudy, Rachid Koreichi, Mil Lubroth and Hania Marrash.

· Egee Editions are carefully planned and executed in London to very high standards. Since 1977, Dale Egee has been consultant to government ministries and museums as well as private and corporate clients in 19 Arab cities. She has helped to build the contemporary Islamic art collection of museums and private homes throughout the Arab world and in Europe.

Lyons Corner House Fine Art is proud to bring exclusive access to Dale Egee's limited edition reproductions of Muslim images through the internet as part of an ongoing development of its service to clients in the Middle East, Europe and North America.
